877-WISE-USE (877-947-3873) is Connecticut’s state wide toll free energy information line where residential and business customers can get help locating the resources to answer energy related questions.

WISE USE is staffed during normal business hours on weekdays to allow you to speak directly with energy professionals about conservation programs, choosing an electric supplier, net metering, renewable energy options, sustainable energy, and more; virtually anything related to energy.

The staff at WISE USE can also help you navigate Connecticut’s Energy Information website, CTEnergyInfo.com.

The staff of energy professionals includes conservation program specialists at UI and CL&P, Consumer Outreach staff at the Department of Public Utility Control who specialize in choosing an electric supplier, renewable energy personnel with the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund and staff at the Institute for Sustainable Energy who are familiar with a variety of subjects including sustainable energy, green construction and more.

It is important to know that WISE USE is not a hot line for energy emergencies or a contractor referral service for your energy related needs or problems.  The WISE USE staff cannot advise you about equipment maintenance or repair and cannot recommend vendors.  You must locate contractors through normal business channels.
